This list picks the 30 strongest venues across all four, with between six and nine entries from each area so that no single neighbourhood crowds out the rest.
The ranking is data-led rather than a matter of taste. Every pub gets a Bayesian-adjusted score that blends its Google rating with its review count, so a 4.8 from 300 reviews does not automatically beat a 4.5 from 30,000, plus a small bonus of up to 0.15 where we hold verified detail on live music, craft beer, rooftop seating and happy hours. Only pubs with a live page on this site and at least 100 reviews were eligible, and each chain appears once. Ratings and review counts are as recorded in our data at the time of ranking.
